Position summary
The Andrews Community Counseling Center is currently seeking to hire additional desk monitors. Shifts are available during morning, afternoon and/or evening hours. The position is for 5-15 hours a week, depending on interest and availability. Desk monitor responsibilities include opening and closing the center, answering phone calls, checking-in clients, data entry and maintaining electronic records.
Qualifications summary
- Must be an Andrews University graduate student or mature undergraduate with good interpersonal skills
- Helpful to have admin and/or behavioral health experience
Duties and responsibilities
- Opening the ACCC 15 minutes prior to the official ACCC opening hours
- Remaining up to 15 minutes after the official ACCC closing time to tidy up the ACCC
- Maintaining electronic records
- Ensuring therapy rooms and waiting area are tidy and relevant supplies available
- Retrieving and responding to voicemail as necessary
- Securing client files
- Maintaining client confidentiality
- Checking in clients when they arrive
- Assisting therapists with making client appointments

- Must be an Andrews University graduate student with good interpersonal skills

Technical competencies
- able to create, edit, and print Microsoft Word documents
Interpersonal interactions
- Must be comfortable interacting with counselors, faculty, clients (prospective and current) in person and on the phone
Physical demands
- Must be able to sit in an office chair for the duration of assigned shift
- Must be able to complete work on a computer
- Must be able to do light lifting (e.g. trash, books)
- Must be able to do light cleaning (e.g. vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, etc.)

- The ACCC is a quiet work environment located in Bell Hall
