Position summary

The Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) is responsible for ensuring the university's ongoing compliance with accreditation standards and facilitating communication between the institution and its accrediting agency. The ALO supports institutional effectiveness by coordinating all accreditation-related activities, leading report development, and ensuring the university adheres to quality assurance standards.

Provides leadership and support the Office of Academic Administration and the Office of the President in the main areas as follow: Accreditation, Academic Assessment, Institutional Assessment/Effectiveness, and supports strategic planning efforts including reporting to the Board of Trustees.

Skilled in coordinating university-wide accreditation efforts, preparing regulatory documentation, and ensuring institutional adherence to quality assurance and continuous improvement practices. Brings a strong background in data analysis, institutional research, and project management, with proven ability to lead successful accreditation reviews and foster cross-departmental collaboration.

Supervisory responsibilities

This person is responsible for the University’s Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness processes and coordinates/supports all personnel that work and provide support in these areas. The candidate will work in leading those involved in all accreditation processes. Will also supervise office staff or student assistants as delegated

Qualifications

Highly skilled professional with over five years of experience in academic leadership and higher education. Proven expertise in managing accrediting projects and visits, coordinating strategic initiatives for institutional effectiveness, and facilitating high-level reporting and communication between the University and accrediting agencies. Committed to excellence, discretion, and the values of Adventist education. 

Education & Certification

Educational Background: Doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration prefered.

Accreditation Expertise: In-depth knowledge of regional accrediting bodies (e.g., HLC, MSCHE, SACSCOC, WASC) and experience managing institutional accreditation reviews. Familiarity with federal and state higher education regulations (e.g., Title IV, IPEDS, Gainful Employmentreporting).

Experience: 5+ years of experience in higher education, particularly in academic affairs, assessment, or institutional effectiveness. Demonstrated success coordinating self-studies, compliance certifications, and responding to accreditor feedback.

Technical competencies

Proficiency in institutional data systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft), assessment platforms (e.g., Taskstream, WEAVE), and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Skilled in data analysis and reporting, including KPI development and student learning outcomes assessment.

Strong ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate stakeholders, and meet high-stakes deadlines.

Experience developing accreditation narratives, compiling evidence portfolios, and ensuring audit-readiness.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with faculty, administrators, and accreditors.

Capable of leading training sessions, developing policy documentation, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Interpersonal interactions

Must be able to relate to various types of audiences and relate professionally with both technical personnel as well as with faculty, staff, students and administrators.

A good communicator both verbally and in writing, be it through written reports or email communication, etc.

Respectful of all people, diplomatic, service-oriented approach with attention to detail



Familiarity with Adventist education principles and commitment to Christian service



Active membership in good standing in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, upholding biblical principles in all interactions and administrative processes.
