Prima Trio in Concert

The Howard Series features the winner of the 2007 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the Prima Trio, at the Howard Performing Arts Center at 4 pm. Prima Trio is comprised of violinist Farhad Hudiyev, clarinetist Boris Allakhverdyan, and pianist Anastasia Dedik. Formed in 2004 at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, they have performed throughout the United States, including at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Oakton Chamber Music Series in Washington, D.C.

Farhad Hudiyev hails from Ashgabad, Turkmenistan, having studied violin and composition with Vera Abaeva at the Special Music School. He has performed in Ashgabad, Suzdal, Moscow, and Odessa, Ukraine. He began studies at Interlochen Arts Academy in the United States in 2001, where he studied with Paul Sonner and Michael Albaugh. He is currently in his second year of study at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with professor of violin Milan Vitek.

 Boris Allakhverdyan was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. He studied clarinet at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, studying with Raphael Bagdasarain and earning a bachelor of music degree—with honors—in 2006. Currently enrolled in the Artist Diploma program at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, he is under the tutelage of associate professor of clarinet Richard Hawkins.

 Anastasia Dedik, born in St. Petersburg, Russia, studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, with Elena Shishko and Valery Vishnevsky, under whom she earned a bachelor of music degree, and a master of music degree in 2004. She earned an
Artist Diploma at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2006, after studying with professor of piano Sedmara Z. Rutstein. In fall 2007, she will pursue an Artist Diploma at Juilliard School with Matti Raekallio and Yohaved Kaplinsky.
