A 1/12 scale model of Joseph Bates' childhood home in Fairhaven, New York, is on special exhibit at the Center for Adventist Research. Come and see the detail and hard work that Carol Beal, the builder, has put into taking you back to 1799 with period furnishings that are to scale.

The model will remain at the Center until spring 2021 when it is transferred to the actual building, which is in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, and is currently in the final stages of reopening as a cutting-edge audio-visual museum. This model took approximately two years to complete and presents a level of astounding detail, which allows visitors to look into the various rooms of the building and gives an idea of how life was lived in a late 18th-century New England home.

Joseph Bates (1792–1872) was an American Reformer and a cofounder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
