Wind Symphony to Perform Spring Concert

The Wind Symphony performs at the Howard Performing Arts Center on the campus of Andrews University.
The final concert of the 2022–23 Andrews University Wind Symphony season, "I’ve Made My Plans for the Summer," will take place on Saturday, April 22, at 8:30 p.m. in the Howard Performing Arts Center.
The spring concert features a number of classic works and transcriptions for band, including “Overture to Candide,” “Courtly Airs and Dances,” “Elegy for a Young American” and “Shepherd’s Hey.” The performance will feature two faculty soloists: Charles Reid, tenor, in John Philip Sousa’s waltz “I’ve Made My Plans for the Summer,” and Max Keller on flugelhorn in a beautiful transcription of Joaquin Rodrigo’s adagio from the “Concierto de Aranjuez” for guitar.
The program will also feature student conducting appearances by Nicole Neugebauer (“Fanfare and Flourishes” by James Curnow) and Jason Marquez (“Joy from Awakening” by Joseph Curiale), as well as fun arrangements of Disney’s “Under the Sea” and several of Duke Ellington’s classic tunes. You won’t want to miss this exciting concert!
The Wind Symphony looks forward to welcoming its audience. Tickets for this event can be purchased at howard.andrews.edu and are $7 for general seating and $5 for students and seniors.
