Vacancy at Neighbor To Neighbor—Cashier Needed

Expectations:

• Reports to the assistant director, their immediate supervisor
• Works at least 27 hours weekly (Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m.–6 p.m.)

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma
• Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar role would be preferred
• Familiarity with electronic equipment e.g., cash register & credit card machine
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Customer satisfaction oriented
• Good math skills
• Should be motivated, energetic and professional

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers politely
• Manage customer complaints, sharing relevant information
• Check out goods and ensure that items are accurately priced
• Collect payments, whether in cash or credit
• Issue receipts and handle in-store credit for selected returns
• Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
• Bag, box or wrap purchased items
• Handle merchandise returns for in-store credit
• Be able to lift items over 25 lbs.
