He earned his bachelor&rsquo;s degree from Andrews University. Enoch proudly served as a Collegedale Police Officer since 2009. He was a successful entrepreneur and will always be remembered for having a generous heart. Enoch was a dedicated father to his three girls. Born on March 24, 1938, in Centralia, Washington, Lillis's life focused on caring for family and serving others. Her many years of teaching piano students and sharing her gift of music left a lasting touch on those around her.</p> <div> Lillis attended Auburn Adventist Academy where she met the love of her life, Robert Kingman. She continued her education at Walla Walla College along with Robert and they were married on June 21, 1959. Graduating in 1960, she went on to receive a Masters of Music Education from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.</div> <div> &nbsp;</div> <div> Lillis was the proud mother of four children, Roy Kingman (Dawn), Lorena Bidwell (Dan), Sharla Erich (Kevin), and Larry Kingman (Heather). She had 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, many of whom personally benefited from her patient lessons on the piano.<br /> <br /> <div> Throughout her life, Lillis shared her love for music as a piano teacher. Her gentle guidance and patient instruction left an indelible mark on countless students. She was not only their teacher but also their mentor and friend.<br /> <br /> Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lillis had a love for photography, capturing the world's beauty through her lens, often finding the extraordinary in the mundane. However, her love for her family and her God, remained her truest passion. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Pastor David Jahn and Pastor David Fish officiating. Burial will follow at the Folden Cemetery in Newfolden, MN.</p> <div> Joyce Elaine Wery was born on July 3, 1944 in Daggett, MI, the daughter of Roy and Dorothy (DeGrave) Wery. His birth completed their family of five including older siblings Stanton and Zoe Ann.</p> <p> Much of his younger life was spent in the southwestern United States where his parents taught school in California, Arizona and Texas at various Seventh-Day Adventist schools.</p> <p> He attended Lodi Academy for his high school years and then Pacific Union College for his undergraduate studies, earning a degree in social work. He worked for a number of years as a clinical social worker, using his professional expertise to help countless other people through difficult times in their lives. He eventually furthered his studies, earning a PhD in sociology from Western Michigan University. He then stepped into academia, teaching sociology at both Pacific Union College and Andrews University. Eventually he moved into hospital administration and worked at Lakeland as the director of rehabilitation for many years. Later, he continued to work as a hospital administrator at both Foote Hospital and Sparrow Hospital before returning to his social work roots. He finally retired after working as a social worker once more at Lakeland and at Riverwood.<br /> ...</p> <p> Don passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marjorie, his brother Stanton, and his sister Zoe. Jess lost both her parents before she turned six and found love and care in the home of her aunt and uncle, Tina and Martin Erickson, in Bayfield, Wisconsin, where she became an integral part of their large, extended family.</p> <p> Jess pursued her education at Emmanual Missionary College (now Andrews University) in Berrien Springs, Michigan, where she met and married Bruce Oliver, a fellow classmate. While Bruce attended dental school in California, Jess got her master&rsquo;s in education from the University of Redlands. Upon Bruce&rsquo;s graduation, they moved to Niles, Michigan, where he established his orthodontic practice. Bruce and Jess were blessed with three children.</p> <p> After dedicating herself to raising her children, Jess earned a master&rsquo;s degree in library science from Western Michigan University and then began her career as a librarian at the Andrews University Library. She enjoyed helping others and having a new way to contribute to the Andrews community.</p> <p> In retirement, Jess continued living in Berrien Springs and enjoyed gardening, reading, piano playing, visiting with friends and family, and spending winters in Florida near Lynn and her family. She received training in teaching reading and enjoyed tutoring. Jess was an active member of the Niles Seventh-day Adventist church for over 50 years.</p> <p> Her final years were spent surrounded by love and care, residing with Lynn and Pine in Punta Gorda, Florida. Jess passed on June 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and unwavering service to her church and family.</p> <p> There will be a private celebration of life at a later date. (A private family graveside service will be held at another time.)<br /> <br /> In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the Office of Planned Giving &amp; Trust Services, 8903 US Highway 31, Berrien Springs, MI 49104-0645. Corwin http://www.andrews.edu/agenda/65313 <p> Duane Meade Corwin of Roseburg, Oregon, was born February 13, 1930, at Loma Linda, California, and went to sleep in Jesus on May 1, 2024.&nbsp; He was the youngest of three sons born to Walter and Leila Corwin. From the age of two he was raised by his stepmother Allie Bell Corwin.</p> <p> Duane graduated from Rogue River Academy in 1947, then attended Pacific Union College and Walla Walla College to obtain a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in theology in 1952.&nbsp; He received a master&rsquo;s degree in religion from Andrews University in 1965.</p> <p> In 1950 Duane married Joanne Wheeler, who assisted him in his ministerial career until her death in 2008. Duane worked for the Seventh-day Adventist Church as a teacher, pastor and evangelist for 43 years in the Oregon, Central California and Northern California conferences. He served as ministerial director of the Northern California Conference for eight years. Besides the United States, he did short term evangelistic service in the Philippines, the Bahamas, Russia and Ghana.</p> <p> Duane is survived by his son Daryl Corwin and wife Juvy of Roseburg, Oregon; daughters Duanna Richards and husband Harold of Auburn, Washington; Lonna Montgomery and husband Mike of Bend, Oregon; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.</p> Wed, 12 Jun 2024 16:05:42 +0000 Statement on the Passing of Arne P. Nielsen, PhD, who in addition to his leadership role at the North American Division (NAD) was an advisor to the Andrews University Board of Trustees and chair of the Griggs International Academy (GIA) Board. He was also a graduate of Andrews, both at the undergraduate and doctoral levels.</p> <p> The NAD has released the following statement:</p> <p> <strong>Official Statement on the Passing of Arne P. Nielsen<br /> North American Division Office of Education</strong></p> <p> We are sad to share that Arne P. Nielsen, North American Division vice president for education, passed to his rest this morning, June 3, 2024, after several days in the intensive care unit dealing with complications from an acute illness.</p> <p> The family asks for privacy at this time as they grieve this very unexpected loss. Please pray for the Nielsen family.
