White Issues Symposium, April 1, 2024</strong></p> <p> Mark your calendar and join us for the virtual <strong>Ellen G. White Issues Symposium,</strong> sponsored by the Center for Adventist Research, the Ellen G. White Estate Branch Office, and the Department of Church History. It will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 9 a.m.&ndash;5 p.m. The purpose of this symposium is to break new ground in understanding Ellen White and issues relating to her life, ministry and prophetic gift.</p> <p> Papers will be presented with a prepared response. There will be an opportunity to submit questions relating to Ellen White and current issues, and as many of these questions as time allows will be debated at the afternoon panel discussion.</p> <p> The speakers this year are <strong>Mark Pearce</strong>, PhD cand., director of the Ellen G. White/Seventh-day Adventist Research Centre at Avondale University in Cooranbong, Australia; <strong>James Mutua</strong>, PhD, director of the Ellen G. White Research Centre and a lecturer in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, Kenya; <strong>Ingram R. London</strong>, PhD cand., assistant professor of systematic theology and ethics at Oakwood University, School of Theology in Huntsville, AL; <strong>Esther Louw</strong>, MA student, originally from Australia; <strong>Tim Poirier</strong>, MTS, vice-director and archivist of the Ellen G. White Estate at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists; and&nbsp;<strong>Gerson C. Rodrigues</strong>, PhD, professor and director of the Ellen G. The 2024 spring book sale begins on April 2 with hundreds of used Seventh-day Adventist books, pamphlets, periodicals, audio-visuals and Ellen White books for sale. There are also many phonograph records for sale. The books range from the 19th century to recent publications. The best titles tend to disappear quickly, so don&rsquo;t delay.</p> <p> The books are competitively priced and will be less costly than at the various online sources for Adventist used books. We accept cash, checks and credit/debit cards. The sale begins on April 2 and will conclude on April 16. Come and see the detail and hard work that Carol Beal, the builder, has put into taking you back to 1799 with period furnishings that are to scale. </span></span></span></p> <p> <span><span data-offset-key="6lcj3-0-0"><span data-text="true">The model will remain at the Center until spring 2021 when it is transferred to the actual building, which is in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, and is currently in the final stages of reopening as a cutting-edge audio-visual museum.
