The 2018 Social Consciousness Summit runs from Wednesday, April 4, to Saturday, April 7. Our focus is on the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Wednesday, April 4
- 6:30–8 p.m. Vigil: King Commemoration (Buller Hall, Newbold Auditorium). Renowned King orator Troy Patterson Thomas will reenact a number of King’s most notable speeches. The evening will also incorporate reflections from community guests, including Congressman Fred Upton, on King’s legacy and life.
Thursday, April 5
- 12:30–1:30 p.m. Lunch & Learn: Jason O'Rourke (Terrace Cafe, Badger Room)
- 6:30–9 p.m. Dinner & Dialogue—Film: The Rape of Recy Taylor (Buller Hall, Newbold Auditorium)
Friday, April 6
- 12:30–1:30 p.m. Lunch & Learn: Claudia Allen (Terrace Cafe, Badger Room)
- 8:45–10:30 p.m. Impact Vespers: Tatum Fowler (University Towers)
Saturday, April 7
- 6–7 p.m. Day of Prayer: "Against the Strongholds" (Youth Chapel, Pioneer Memorial Church)
