4–6 p.m. (come-and-go reception)
James White Library Main Lobby
Wanda Cantrell has worked her entire adult life for Andrews University except for seven years, both as a student employee and staff. She worked for Dining Services, Custodial Services, Department of Music, the Press (when it was in operation) and Apple Valley (when owned by Andrews). She worked 12 years at Adventist Information Ministry (10 as the office manager), and 27 at James White Library (23 years and 9 months as the office manager).
Wanda volunteered for over 30 years with Black Student Christian Forum Alumni helping to establish their endowment and was awarded Alumni of the Year in 2003 as a result of her hard work. She is probably most recognized for her music, having sung with numerous University groups (too many to list). Most notably Seminary Chorus, 28 years; Journey Ministries, 15 years (serving as manager/sponsor); and University Singers, 24 years. In her many travels with these groups, Wanda has been an advocate for Andrews, always encouraging alumni to come back and give back. At graduation, many have seen her smiling face at the top of the Dining Services’ stairs welcoming graduates and their families to the president’s reception.
Come celebrate Wanda’s years of dedicated service to the James White Library, Andrews University and the Adventist church as a whole.
