Diana Mitchell is a staff counselor and Prevention and Wellness coordinator at the Counseling & Testing Center. She is responsible for providing individual and group counseling as well as coordinating prevention and wellness programs. She has worked with a wide range of individuals from ages 3 to 99 years old with various issues including ADHD, depression, anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, bipolar disorder, PTSD, physical/sexual sbuse, autism spectrum disorder, substance abuse/dependence, parenting skills training, lifespan issues and marital/couple issues.
She has provided services in school settings, office, home-based therapy, residential facilities, juvenile detention centers, and nursing homes/assisted living facilities. She has used various techniques to help clients that include: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, narrative therapy, journaling, assertiveness/communication skills training, art therapy, play therapy, behavioral modification, strength-based therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
