Ministry—DMIN

The Doctor of Ministry is a part-time experiential program designed especially to fit into the lives of full-time ministry professionals. This program allows professionals who seek advanced competencies in ministry to communicate effectively, manage change and conflict, build multi-generational congregations, foster congregational renewal, embrace ministry in multicultural settings, and lead others.

The Doctor of Ministry is transformative in purpose and nature, forming the spiritual and professional dimensions of participants.

PROGRAM LENGTH

This 32-credit program can typically be completed by students in five years.

POINTS OF DISTINCTION

  • Accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and by the Adventist Accrediting Association.
  • Alumni and current program participants represent over 70 different countries.
  • Study in a transformative atmosphere and with a collaborative community.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • A master’s degree (or non-U.S. equivalent) in divinity or a related discipline from an accredited institution and a minimum graduate GPA of 3.25 (applicants with lower GPA may be admitted upon consideration of the composite profile).
  • Three recommendations: two general and an institutional official recommendation.
  • Resume describing employment, educational history, research or special projects.
  • An essay describing your personal spiritual journey and your reasons for seeking the DMin. The paper should demonstrate familiarity with current literature in your field of ministry.
  • TOEFL, IELTS or PTE (academic): Students whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency test scores. Waived for our programs taught in other languages.
  • Portfolio: Academic alternative for those who have a BTh and a conferred ministry related MA degree.
  • Seminary Background Screening.
